Bridgnorth Aluminium has played a key role in contributing towards a flagship publication highlighting the industry’s impact over the last century across the UK.
Alongside a host of other firms in the sector, the company was part of the Aluminium Federation’s (ALFED) contribution to the official commemorative publication of Monarchy & Democracy: A History of Leadership.
Launched in partnership with the History of Parliament Trust and St James’s House, it celebrates a century of constitutional evolution and how Parliament, industry and national institutions have helped shape modern Britain.
ALFED’s contribution highlighted the critical role aluminium has played in Britain’s industrial development over the past century, from wartime manufacturing to today’s renewable energy infrastructure.
Contributions came from Bridgnorth Aluminium, as well as other companies, as they showcased the strength, diversity and strategic importance of the current UK aluminium supply chain.
Head of sales, Adrian Musgrave, said the publication highlights how the impact of the industry on society is ‘unquestionable’.
“We are very proud of our UK manufacturing heritage at Bridgnorth Aluminium, a heritage that has been driven by innovation, world class production and supplying aluminium to some of the world’s most critical applications,” said Adrian.
“The 100 years of Monarchy & Democracy is a flagship publication, and we wanted to ensure our industry, and our unquestionable impact on society, was highlighted among some of the best companies in the UK.”
The publication launch took place at Westminster Abbey, and brought together representatives from Parliament, government, industry, academia and the media to reflect on a century of constitutional, societal and industrial development.
The ALFED contribution also reinforced the federation’s work around industrial strategy, critical materials and the long-term resilience of UK manufacturing
Nadine Bloxsome, CEO of ALFED, added: “It is a privilege for ALFED and our members to be included within this landmark publication celebrating 100 years of Monarchy and Democracy.
“Aluminium has been central to Britain’s industrial progress for generations, from defence and aerospace through to construction, transport, packaging and renewable energy.

“The themes explored throughout the publication – leadership, resilience, innovation and long-term stewardship – strongly resonate with the UK aluminium sector and the businesses that continue to invest in Britain’s industrial future.
“Today, the sector continues to play a vital role in supporting UK manufacturing, economic resilience and the transition towards a low-carbon, circular economy. This recognition provides an important opportunity to showcase both the heritage and future potential of the UK aluminium industry.”
